The Gem Theatre Drawing and J.J. Abrams

In 2005, Kevin decided to draw a local movie theater in his hometown of Kannapolis, NC. Kevin's local paper wrote an article about it. The reporter, Eric Deins, asked Kevin about the movie on the marquee in the photo, and if he would draw it in, Kevin told him no, that he would probably take suggestions from the local citizens. The paper accidentally misquoted Kevin as saying "Mission Impossible 3 was no good". The next day, Kevin got an email from JJ Abrams inquiring about the quote and the drawing. He liked Kevin's work and was interested in the drawing, only if Kevin left MI:3 on the marquee. Just in case you are wondering, JJ had a Google alert set up for MI:3 for reviews.
